Privacy Statement

Privacy statement regarding the online communications service provided by OKOMO AG as a plugin to customer websites

OKOMO may unilaterally modify this policy at any time.

For communication with an expert, making appointments and contact between you, the visitor of the website, and your expert, we, the website provider, use the service of the Swiss company OKOMO AG.

In this context, OKOMO automatically stores a cookie locally on your end device that enables you to contact an expert, make appointments and have a conversation. Your name and email address as well as the chat ID are stored in this cookie. This cookie is stored only locally on your device and you can delete it yourself at any time. On the server, OKOMO stores anonymized telemetry data for the use and improvement of the service, appointment suggestions if you use appointment scheduling, and the same data as the cookie.  The legal basis for the processing of personal data is Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. a GDPR. During the consultation via audio or video call, no data is stored and the conversation is not recorded unless you have expressly consented to a recording. This data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required to achieve the purpose for which it was collected and legal retention periods do not require its continued existence (it is automatically deleted after a period of 12 months). All data is stored in encrypted form.

Possibility of revocation and removal: You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data at any time. OKOMO relies on contractually affiliated third-party companies and external service providers ("processors") to provide its services. If OKOMO passes on data to its service providers, they may only use the data to perform their tasks. The service providers have been carefully selected and commissioned by OKOMO. They are contractually bound by OKOMO's instructions as well as confidentiality regulations, have suitable technical and organizational measures to protect the rights of the data subjects, guarantee an appropriate level of data protection and are carefully monitored by OKOMO. Disclosure may occur in connection with official inquiries, court orders and legal proceedings if it is necessary for legal prosecution or enforcement.

Specifically, OKOMO leverages the following processors:

  • Microsoft Azure: data center Switzerland North (Zurich, Switzerland)
  • Twilio: data center DE1 (Frankfurt, Germany)
  • MongoDB: hosted by Microsoft Azure in Switzerland North (Zurich, Switzerland)
  • Mailgun: data center EU (Frankfurt, Germany)
  • Payrexx (for OKOMO Pay): data center (Frankfurt, Germany)
